Bar Etiquette NO-NOs #3 – The Double Order | How to Order at a Bar
Ok, so you’re at the bar, right? And it’s busy as fook, right? And you come up to the bartender and you order something, right? “Yeah, I’ll have 2 two beers… Labatt’s Blue… 2 Labatt’s Blue, and one MGD.” Ok, no problem. And then I go away.
I’m a busy guy, and it’s packed in the house. You know, it’s packed everywhere. Right, I’m busy, I’m busy. So, it takes me a little bit… maybe I gotta talk to the manager, maybe I gotta talk to the other server. It takes me a little bit to get your drink, right? And you’re waiting and you’re waiting, and you see the girls, and you’re like “oh I wanna get things going on, I wanna get things going on.”
So then you go to the next bartender. You’re like “hey, hey, hey, sweetie… sweetie… can I get 2 Labatt’s Blue and an MGD?” So what happens then? What do you think? I come back with your three beers, and then the other bartender comes back with your three beers. Now, you gotta pay for six beers.
Don’t order twice. If you’ve ordered once, off one bartender, give him time… give her time, ok?
It’s busy. They’ll remember your order, and they’ll come back and help you out.
